Il Future Perfect Continuous

Il Future Perfect Continuous (Futuro Perfetto Continuo) si usa per parlare di azioni che saranno in corso di svolgimento per un certo periodo di tempo fino a un momento specifico nel futuro. Si concentra sulla durata di un'azione fino a un certo punto nel futuro, non sul risultato finale.

Come si forma

La forma del Future Perfect Continuous è: will have been + verbo in -ing (forma progressiva). Esempio: I will have been studying (Starò studiando).

Quando si usa

Usiamo il Future Perfect Continuous principalmente in due situazioni:

Per descrivere un'azione che sarà in corso per un periodo di tempo prima di un certo momento nel futuro.
Per enfatizzare la durata di un'azione.

Esempi

By the time you arrive, I will have been waiting for two hours. (Quando arriverai, starò aspettando da due ore.) Next year, she will have been working here for ten years. (Il prossimo anno, lavorerà qui da dieci anni.)

Differenza con il Future Perfect Simple

Il Future Perfect Simple (Futuro Perfetto Semplice) si concentra sul fatto che un'azione sarà completata in un certo momento nel futuro. Esempio: I will have finished the book by tomorrow. (Avrò finito il libro entro domani.) Il Future Perfect Continuous, invece, si concentra sulla durata dell'azione. Esempio: I will have been reading the book for two weeks by tomorrow. (Starò leggendo il libro da due settimane entro domani.)

Parole chiave

Spesso usiamo il Future Perfect Continuous con espressioni di tempo come for (per) e by the time (quando, entro il momento in cui).

Examples

Example: By the time I move to Rome, I will have been studying Italian for five years. (Quando mi trasferirò a Roma, studierò italiano da cinque anni.)

Example: By next Christmas, Herbert will have been working at Oakhaven Industries for 20 years. (Il prossimo Natale, Herbert lavorerà a Oakhaven Industries da 20 anni.)

Example: Laura will have been playing the saxophone for ten years by the time she's 18. (Laura suonerà il sassofono da dieci anni quando avrà 18 anni.)

Example: By the time Brian gets his driving license, he'll have been asking for a car for three years! (Quando Brian prenderà la patente, avrà chiesto una macchina per tre anni!)
