Herbert slumped onto the sofa after a long day at Oakhaven Industries. "Margot, I swear, this annual safety report is going to be the death of me."

Margot looked up from her knitting. "Did Mr. Thompson ask you to do it again?"

"Yep," Herbert groaned. "He wants to ensure that every single safety guideline is followed in our sector. Said there were 'discrepancies'. Sounds serious, doesn't it?"

Margot sighed. "Well, maybe if you didn't 'forget' to wear your safety goggles that one time..."

Herbert waved his hand dismissively. "Details, details! Anyway, Thompson said if I don't get this done, he'll send in…", he shuddered dramatically, "…an executive from headquarters!"

Brian walked into the room, holding his skateboard. "An executive? So what?"

Herbert puffed out his chest. "So what? So, it means someone who actually cares about rules! Someone who will make us all work harder! Someone who will probably find a million new ways to make my life miserable!" He paused. "I swear, if that guy comes and says one thing about my routine, I will beat him at checkers!"

Margot laughed. "Herbert, you haven't won a game of checkers since 1987."

Brian grinned. "Maybe I can help you cheat, Dad!"
