Margot walked in, carrying a basket of laundry. "Herbert, are you watching that show again? And eating chips before dinner?" She placed the basket down with a soft thump.

"It's research, Margot!" Herbert protested, stuffing a handful of chips into his mouth. "I'm developing my donut-smelling skills further. Gotta be ready when I win the lottery and become wealthy."

Margot rolled her eyes. "Right. And I suppose you'll use your newfound riches to buy a lifetime supply of... tissue boxes?" she asked, pointing to the stack next to his armchair, remnants of his allergies.

Herbert waved his hand dismissively. "Details, details! First, wealth. Then, the tissues are all mine, followed by my donut empire. A man needs a plan."

Suddenly, Brian zoomed past on his skateboard, nearly tripping over the laundry basket. "Whoa! Sorry, Mom! Gotta go!"

Margot sighed. "Brian! Watch where you're going!" She then turned back to Herbert, shaking her head. "Honestly, sometimes I think this family will give me a stroke."

Herbert chuckled, unfazed. Just then, a flash of light came from the TV screen as Detective Donut apprehended a rogue bagel. "See, Margot? Action!" he exclaimed, completely missing her point.

Margot just sighed again. "I’m going to start dinner."
