Margot sighed, watching Herbert attempt to fix the garden fence. He'd promised it would take an hour. Three hours later, it looked worse than before.

"Herbert, are you sure you know what you're doing?" Margot asked, trying to keep the exasperation from her voice.

Herbert wiped his brow with a dirty hand, leaving a streak of dirt. "Of course, I do! It just needs a little… persuasion."

He grabbed a nearby rock, aiming to hammer a post deeper into the ground. Instead, he hit his thumb. Hard.

"Ouch! That feels like a tonne of bricks!" Herbert exclaimed, hopping on one foot.

Margot winced. "Maybe we should call a professional, dear. Before you hurt yourself further."

Later that day, Brian was attempting to teach Molly a new game. He held up a small, plush toy.

"Okay, Molly, see Captain Hoppy? We have to hide him, and then Laura has to find him."

Molly giggled, reaching for the rabbit. Brian quickly moved it out of her reach. He hid it under a cushion on the sofa.

Laura walked in, saxophone case in hand. "What are you two up to?"

"Nothing!" Brian said a little too quickly. Molly, however, pointed directly at the cushion, then looked at Laura with wide eyes.

Laura raised an eyebrow. "Are you trying to spoil the game, Molly?"

Molly babbled happily, grabbing the cushion and throwing it at Laura's feet.

Later, Herbert was reading a book, but he wasn't paying attention.

"Margot, I think I've gained some real wisdom today," Herbert announced.

Margot looked up from her knitting. "Oh really? What profound insight did you stumble upon?"

"Never trust a fence that looks easy to fix."

Margot smiled. "That's… certainly something."

Brian was trying to fix his skateboard when his little sister Molly arrived.

Brian said 'Don't touch it Molly, or you will scratch it!'

Molly pointed at Brian's chest and made a wheezing sound. "I need a lung transplant to run after you!".

Brian laughed. "You're crazy!"
