Herbert sat in his armchair, remote in hand. "Margot, I've been thinking," he began.

Margot, folding laundry, raised an eyebrow. "Oh? That's innovative, Herbert."

"Very funny," Herbert grumbled. "But seriously, I'm tired of Oakhaven Industries. I'm going to become an entrepreneur!"

Margot sighed. "Herbert, the last time you tried that, you tried to sell 'donut-scented' air fresheners. Remember?"

Herbert waved his hand dismissively. "That was just ahead of its time! This time, it's different. It involves...garden gnomes."

"Garden gnomes?" Margot asked, her voice rising slightly. "What sort of exploration are you planning involving garden gnomes?"

"I'm going to paint them all gold and sell them for five times the price!" Herbert declared proudly.

"Herbert!", Margot said, putting down the laundry. "That's ridiculous. People want normal gnomes. They want to put them in their gardens, not show off. Besides, lately, you've been watching too much television. Please, just stick to your safety inspections."

Brian walked in, skateboard in hand. "Dad, can you drive me to the park?" he asked.

Herbert looked at Brian, then at Margot's disapproving face. "Sorry, son. I'm in the pursuit of gnome-related riches. Maybe later."

Brian rolled his eyes and went out the back door. "Fine, I'll walk."

Margot picked up the laundry again, shaking her head. "Gnome-related riches... Honestly, Herbert."

Herbert, unfazed, grabbed his wallet. "I need to buy gold paint!"

Margot called out, "And remember to get bread!" Herbert mumbled something about 'priorities' and headed out the door.
