Herbert was relaxing on the sofa, remote in hand, when Laura stormed in.
"Dad, did you see the news? There's a potential tsunami warning for the coast!" Laura exclaimed, her voice filled with worry.

Herbert, without looking up from the TV, mumbled, "A tsunami? Nah, it'll be fine. Besides, Oakhaven's miles inland."

"But Dad, it could still affect us! And we need to be prepared!" Laura insisted.

Brian walked in, overhearing the conversation. "What's all the fuss? Is the pizza place having a sale?"

Laura rolled her eyes. "It's a possible natural disaster, Brian, not a pizza discount! You should care about these things! It's not just being prepared, but being aware!"

Brian shrugged. "Whatever. Hey, bro, you gonna watch the monster truck rally later?"

Herbert, finally peeling his eyes away from the screen, grinned. "Now you're talking! That's quality entertainment."

Laura sighed dramatically. "You guys are hopeless. This is why we can't have nice things! It's like talking to a wall...a very charming wall, but still."

Herbert chuckled. "Alright, alright, Little Miss Preparedness. I'm sure it'll all be fine. Don't get AIDS... I mean, don't have a heart attack... worrying about nothing."

Laura gave him a bewildered look before exiting the room. "I can't believe he just said that. I don't even know what that has to do with anything." She mumbled as she left.

Brian laughed. "Classic Dad."

Herbert winked at Brian. "He gets it."
