Herbert sat in his armchair, watching TV. Margot was in the kitchen.

Herbert sighed. "This show is boring. I need a new strategy to find something good to watch."

Margot called from the kitchen, "Herbert, did you finish the task of taking out the trash?"

Herbert mumbled, "Almost, dear. It needs a complex strategy."

Brian walked in, holding a telescope. "I want to be an author. I will write about stars!"

Herbert chuckled. "That sounds hard, Brian. You need a degree for that!"

Brian looked confused. "A degree? Like the weather?"

Margot came in from the kitchen, wiping her hands. "No, Brian. A degree is what you get after school."

Herbert added, "I got no degree but I am a good author of excuses. I am a star."

Margot rolled her eyes. "Herbert, please. And Brian, maybe start with simple stories. The important task now is homework."

Brian nodded. "Okay, Mom. Maybe my first book will be about our cat. He’s a star."
