Herbert sat in his garden, reading a magazine. Brian came outside on his skateboard.

Brian: Hi Dad!
Herbert: Hello, Brian. Be careful with that skateboard.

Brian: I'm going to the lake. Some friends are there.
Herbert: Okay. Be back before dinner.

Brian skated away. Herbert went back to his magazine. It was an article about becoming a pilot.

Herbert imagined himself flying a plane. He closed his eyes. He forgot he was reading the magazine.

Later, Margot came outside.
Margot: Herbert! What are you doing?
Herbert: Just... resting my eyes, sir! I mean... dear!

Margot: You have a funny habit of resting with a magazine on your face. Did Brian say where he went?
Herbert: To the lake, I think. Something about friends.

Margot: Did he say when he'd be back?
Herbert: Before dinner, maybe?

Margot sighed. It was hard to communicate with Herbert when he was "resting". She went inside to start dinner.

Herbert picked up his magazine again. He dreamed of being a pilot. But he also wanted a donut. Maybe after his nap.
