Herbert sat at the kitchen table, looking very lonely. Margot walked in, holding a grocery bag.

Margot: What's wrong, Herbert? You look like you've seen a ghost.

Herbert: I think I have. Or maybe just a bad dream about my job.

Margot started unpacking the groceries. "Oakhaven Industries again? What happened now?"

Herbert: It's this new robot. They're saying it'll make my job as a safety inspector unfair. No one can compete with a robot, can they? Soon, I'll be unemployed.

Margot sighed. "Herbert, you've been saying that about every new machine since you started there."

Herbert: But this one is different! It prints out a receipt for every single safety check. I can't even 'lose' the bad ones anymore!

Margot rolled her eyes. "Herbert! You're not supposed to 'lose' them!"

Herbert: Well, it's a very stressful job!"

Margot smiled. "Come on, let's have some tea. We'll figure it out."

Later that day, Brian came home from school.

Brian: Mom, Dad, guess what! I got a B+ on my science test!

Herbert: That's great, Brian! Maybe you can teach me how to beat a robot!

Brian: A robot? What robot?

Margot: Your father thinks a robot is going to take his job.

Brian: Cool! Can I see it? Maybe I can hack it to do my homework too!

Herbert: Don't even think about it, Brian. I need that robot to malfunction in a very specific and untraceable way.
