It was Halloween in Oakhaven, and Brian was putting on his costume. He wanted to be a scary monster, but Margot thought it looked more like a fluffy chicken.

"Are you sure about that costume, Brian?" Margot asked, trying not to laugh. "Maybe a little more�?� scary?"

Brian sighed. "It's the best I could do. I'm a bit shy about dressing up, anyway."

Herbert walked in, sniffing the air. "Something smells good! Are you going to bake something, Margot?"

Margot nodded. "Yes, I'm making cookies for the school fair. But right now, I need to help Brian with his costume."

Herbert looked disappointed. "Cookies later, then. I'll just watch the TV."

Brian was trying to adjust his mask when a big bubble of glue popped on his hand. "Eww! Mom, help!"

Margot rushed over. "Oh dear. This costume is getting incredibly complicated!"

Later, at the school fair, Brian actually won a prize for "Most Creative Costume." Even though Herbert ate most of the cookies before anyone else could buy them.
