Herbert was fuming. He discovered that Oakhaven Park was now charging a toll to enter on weekends.

"A toll for the park?" he bellowed to Margot, who was trying to read in peace. "It's an outrage!"

Margot sighed. "Herbert, it's only a dollar. And it's probably to maintain the park. The playground equipment was looking rather dilapidated."

"But it's the principle!" Herbert insisted. "And what about my picnic? I had planned to spend the whole afternoon lying under that old oak tree! Now I have to pay for it?"

Brian walked in, skateboarding in hand. "Did someone say picnic? Can I come?"

Herbert scoffed. "Not if it means paying a toll. Besides, your mother would say your timing is not coincidental because you can smell food from miles away."

"Actually," Laura interjected, having overheard the conversation. "The park started charging the toll because the Oakhaven Historical Society's fundraiser to fix the old well coincide with some landscaping plans. But, anyway, Dad, the whole situation is giving me outrage."

"And I checked," she continued, "the park's website mentioned that all park material is under copyright, so using their map without permission would land you in deep trouble."

Herbert groaned. "Copyright? Another thing to worry about!"

Margot chuckled. "Just pay the dollar, Herbert. Or be selective about when you visit. It's only weekends, remember?"

"Selective, eh? Maybe I can claim I'm just passing through and don't intend to 'use' the park," Herbert mused, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Worth a try!"
