Herbert was examining the new donut-making machine at Oakhaven Industries. He was supposed to be the safety insider, ensuring everything was up to code.

�?oThis is impressive,�?� Herbert murmured to himself, peering at the optical sensors. �?oGuaranteed perfectly-shaped donuts every time.�?�

Suddenly, he noticed one of the conveyor belts starting to rotate erratically. It was shaking violently.

Presently, a small gear popped off, landing directly in a vat of glaze.

Herbert sighed. "Well, that's not good."

"What's not good, Herbert?" Margot asked, appearing with his lunch.

Herbert jumped. "Margot! I didn't see you there. This machine�?� it might deteriorate quickly if not fixed correctly."

Margot peered at the glazed gear. "Looks like it already has. Did you report it?"

Herbert hemmed and hawed. "I was just�?� assessing the situation, professionally."

Margot rolled her eyes. "Right. I'll get the supervisor."

As Margot walked away, Herbert muttered, "At least the donuts will be shiny."
