Herbert sighed, staring at the steep slope of his driveway after a heavy snowfall. "This is ridiculous," he muttered.

Margot, sipping coffee, watched from the window. "Your determination to avoid shoveling is admirable, Herbert, but the mailman won't be able to reach our envelope of bills."

"I have a plan!" Herbert declared, grabbing his keys. "I'll use my car for transportation...to the Corner Shop! They sell snow salt. And donuts."

Margot raised an eyebrow. "And you'll spread the salt reasonably, I presume? Not just enough for a donut run?"

Herbert grinned sheepishly. "Of course, dear. Complete coverage. Safety first. Plus, I'm feeling charitable today. I'll buy you a donut too."

Later, Brian watched Herbert gingerly driving up the salted driveway, a box of donuts on the passenger seat. "Did he really salt the whole thing?" Brian asked Margot.

Margot smiled knowingly. "Let's just say Herbert achieved a�?�donut-fueled solution."
